Regarding to the computer facilities, the University has several PCs and workstations. The Department of Statistics also provides ample computing facilities, both hardware and software, to support instruction and research. The local area network for the Department currently has about fifty hosts including Windows NT, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Linux systems. Several powerful PCs are available for use in advanced courses, enabling students to do statistical analysis. Common statistical packages and libraries such as SAS, S-Plus, Rats, SPSS, and IMSL are available on various machines. There is also a small computer lab open for the undergraduate and graduate students. The local arm TCP/IP network is connected to the University network; therefore, the users can take full advantage of a range of national and international facilities.
